A bit of the Parthenon

Some renovations at the Parthenon

Fira, the capital of Santorini is situated on the edge of the caldera. The centre of the island was blown into the air by a volcanic explosion during the late bronze age.

The steps down from Fira. This is where the cruise ships come in.

Looking back towards Fira from the new volcanic cone at the centre of the caldera. The town of Fira has the nice natural look of guano along a cliff edge.

Being a bikie.

View from Oia at the end of the island looking back towards Fira.

The view from the Taverna near the Pension where we stayed at Firostefani.

The castle in the town of Rhodes on Rhodes

A trip around the island by rented car took us to Lindos (via the valley devoid of butterflies)

Finally found a restaurant in Rhodes everyone approved of.

Going to the boat to leave Rhodes.

Most of the photos here are by Craig Steddy.
